the enya of bluegrass
with solid banjo playing, haunting vocals, and tight arrangements, janet has succeeded in making a cd that pays respect to bluegrass, irish folk, and renaissance music.its a delightful change of pace from the usual bluegrass fare.

Uplifting and inspirational talent
Janet Beazley's collection of old and new will send your emotions into turmoil, you will dance then weep then laugh and sing. This multi-talented lady (with a Doctorate in early music) has a cristal-clear voice that could pierce the stoniest of hearts and harmonies that most singers can only dream about. From the uplifting Chris Stuart song about the Julia Belle Swain riverboat that will have you singing along at full volume, to the heart-rending "You'll never care" that will tug at your heart strings, to the stunning harmonies of "White", this album could appeal to everyone. Janet is a rare talent and a wonderful person with an enthusiasm for Bluegrass that is infectious. Meeting her and listening to Backcountry encouraged me to dig deeper into Bluegrass and to take up the banjo. One criticism: the album is too short! I eagerly await her next offering.

What an amazing album!
After meeting Janet Beazley at Sore Fingers Summer School in 2007, I was inspired to hear more of her playing. I wasn't disappointed with what I found! This CD features some absolutely awesome banjo playing and fantastic tunes, delivered with great skill yet without relying on virtuosic complexity to sell them. Easily one of the best albums ive bought.

I lover it
When I heard Janet’s CD for the first time, I was riding with a friend. The first thing I noticed was the group was playing at a tempo that made the pieces swing, not a tempo to see who could play fastest. The next thing I heard was they were absolutely in tune to me. I don’t have perfect pitch but this was great. Then, when I heard the variety in the music, I was sold. I learned by reading the liner notes that the variety was because the music was selected from original tunes, Renaissance tunes, and shape note songs. My final review: I loved it. I bought a copy for me and three as gifts.

Everything about this album is astonishing beautiful. Her live performance and friendly attitude along with Christ Stuart and friends is an honor to America. Please come to Denmark again.
