Album Notes

Janet Ritz is a singer/songwriter from Hollywood who has a beautiful voice, strong lyrics and writes wonderful and memorable melodies.

Janet, the 2004 winner of Yahama's International Music Production Contest, is also an accomplished composer for TV, Film and nationally aired commercials. As a result, you may find the sound of both Janet's music and vocals very familiar to you.

Reviews of Janet's latest CD have been glowing. A top Los Angeles magazine, in a recent article, described it as follows:

"Janet Ritz, a published singer/songwriter/composer has just completed her latest CD titled Tough Enough. The music on her new CD was written for various television and film soundtracks and is generating quite a buzz in the industry. Her CD is filled with beautiful songs, melodies that stay with you, with very powerful lyrics. Ritz's band is comprised of the top session musicians in the industry and the music reflects that."

For Janet's latest commercial project, she co-wrote (with renowned LA composer Jonathan Hayes) and recorded the theme song for actor Dennis Weaver's (McCloud and Gunsmoke)environmental movement's international events, called the Hydrogen Drives -- where world famous celebrities and politicians particpate in international caravans with alternative fuel vehicles. The result is a song called "Drive On", which is now getting national airplay and is also available on Janet's new CD.

Janet has performed with many major artists, including, as a very young girl, background vocals for the band Blue Oyster Cult, to, recently, sitting in with actor Jeff Goldblum's All-Star Jazz Band, which also included other top players, such as renowned saxophone player, Tom Scott (Steely Dan), among many others.

Also, in the area of composition, Janet has worked as a copyist/orchestrator for such top artists and producers as Santana, LucasFilm, Eddie Money and many, many others, which had greatly added to the depth and breadth of her talent and experience.

Janet composes and records constantly, but is very selective about the music that makes it on to her CDs. The new CD, Tough Enough, is the best of her best and, according to a reviewer from broadjam.com (which put Janet's song "Scared" into their top 10, nationwide) "has a lasting impact on all who hear it, because the melodies stay with you and bring you back to listen, again and again."

Janet welcomes and looks forward to feedback from listeners, so feel free to email her!
