Album Notes

What do you get when you cross a classically trained pianist with the beautiful sound of the violin, a hip hop and ballet dance background, and a rangy pop voice to boot? This is it!! Hailing from Orange County, Lara wins over audiences with her energetic performances which one fan describes as a hipper Celine Dion meets a mature Christina Aguilera with some Alicia Keys piano and soul. She has been working in the studio with Dean Sams of the multi-platinum group Lonestar as producer, Ken Larish in Los Angeles, and writing with top writers including Amy Powers, Busbee, Marty Silverstone, Chris Pelcer, Jason Blume, and Marv Green ("Amazed").

Lara's songs have already received recognition on Broadjam.com's Top 10 and Garageband.com's "Track of the Day" and other awards. She also reached Garageband.com's coveted #1 for Female Vocalist in Pop (all-time charts), and Female Vocalist Overall (all-time charts). She was recently nominated as best female singer in the 2004 Orange County Music Awards. Her stint in Nashville included being a finalist on FOX's Nashville Pop Idol. After winning Top Female Vocalist at a California Thespian Festival and receiving a scholarship, Lara attended a two-week program on Broadway in New York where she had the opportunity to perform in the Lamb's Theatre and work with Broadway professionals, such as Marni Nixon.

A summa cum laude graduate from USC's Music Business Program (4.0 GPA in her major), Lara was a featured artist on USC's radio station and in the Daily Trojan Newspaper, as well as an Entertainment Guest on Trojan Vision's Platforum.

Recent events include singing the National Anthem at a Dodger's Game, singing as the voice for Mattel's Princess Anneliese Barbie Doll (one of the hot toy items this holiday season), performing as the featured vocalist in the debut of "The Buddy Bregman Show", and performing throughout the United States. She has appeared in many short films and music videos, modeled for companies such as Lanza, and has a couple feature films in the works. Lara is playing Kim Novak in Debbie Allen's (FAME, West Side Story) workshop production of Leslie Bricusse's (Jekyll and Hyde, Victor/Victoria) latest musical, "Sammy," played by comedian/tv/film star Tommy Davidson. Some of the people moved by Lara's performance included Denzel Washington, Quincy Jones, and Liza Minelli!

Lara realizes success is not overnight, but is the culmination of hard work meeting opportunity. Persistence is key and she has what it takes to realize her dreams. Check out www.larajanine.com for her upcoming performance dates.

Now on CD baby, soon at the grammies...
author: Philippe "TNK" Meisburger - songwriter
Lara's first CD is a true gem. Chart ready R'n'B touched pop stuff ("I can't love you", "I live for this"), classical music arranged in a more modern way, smooth slows ("changes"), pure Californian sunny pop ("Walking away"), all together on one CD that does not only have it's place on the top of the charts of CDbaby.com but on the top of THE charts - I mean the worldwide ones ! The melodies are absolutely catchy, the production is often better than the one you can get on the biggest major label releases and Lara's voice is really among the best ones I've ever heard. The CDbaby crew should be proud of having such a great artist in their roster, as I think that within a short period of time, this artist will not be known from a few internet music lovers but from THE masses. Her music is a blend of Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Alicia Keys, and believe me, since Lara is on the market, all those 3 artists have real reasons to be afraid, because there's someone around that beats them all !

It Grabs You, And WOn't Let You Go....
author: Stacy "Judas Christ" Rugely--ThanaPaulis Records/Entertainment--
The music of Cali native Lara Janine is rythmic, soulful, sincere, sexy and very talented. Intelligent song structure and excellent production with superior volin work, super catchy hooks (the bass kicks a$$), excellent mastering, and of course the most angelic voice since Anneka of The Gathering. This is Lara Janine, and "how sweet it is". Vocals like the best dream. And like a dream you enjoy, this album will be diffuclt to leave. She opens up with pure honesty, letting us know her deepest of thoughts, and her as an artist, is second to none. The work on this album is so irresistably addicting and very good. Like holiday candy.
