Album Notes

Hey folks, I'm glad you are here reading about my newest CD 'Southwood.' I will begin by listing the musicians who contributed their time and talents:
Jason Bailey mandolin
Andy Leftwich fiddle
Brandon Taylor bass
Dwayne Tew guitar
Jannell Canerday vocals tracks 4,7
Herb Trotman banjo tracks 1,8
Bobby Horton dobro tracks 1,6,8
Barry Waldrep guitar lead track 1
Sam Pointer bouzouki track 5

It is a great honor to have worked with all of these wonderful musicians. They all captured my music in exactly the way I imagined. Give yourself a listen! I allowed all of the tracks to be sampled because I am so happy how they turned out. You may recognize many of these musicians names from albums in your own collections, for example Andy Leftwich plays with Ricky Skaggs, Herb Trotman played with Claire Lynch, Bobby Horton plays with Three on a String and does soundtracks to Ken Burns films, Barry Waldrep plays with 'Rollin in the Hay. The list goes on.
As you probably suspect this is an all acoustic album. Since I started playing the mandolin though, I have done mostly non acoustic music. Some of which you can find here on CD Baby (I will list these bands below). However, I always took the time to go to festivals and just pick. These experiences helped motivate me to get my bachelor of Arts degree in music. Essentially, this recording shows a lot of what I have absorbed from all of the wonderful people I have met on my way. I hope you enjoy 'Southwood.'
Check out these other CDs I have been involved with on CD Baby.
Thank You, Jason Bailey

Soothing, exciting, makes me want to write poetry again. Hauntingly beautiful - and all I heard was the demo! ( Not being a woman of wealth I'll have to save up to get the whole cd.)
