A warm weave of original acoustic folk music from singer-songwriter Jason Bennett on his 4th cd. The songs of self-examination, loss, love and indecision are delicately sprinkled with acoustic instrumentation.

Eleven Mile Records is proud to present the 4th cd from folk singer-songwriter Jason Bennett. The album features eight songs penned by Bennett, one Bob Dylan composition and a Jason Riggs song. The album is a collection of acoustic-themed folk music featuring Bennett on vocals, guitar and harmonica and Colorado musicians Rich Currier (Bad Dogs) and Chuck Haas (SimpleMan) backing him in the studio. Rich Currier adds a nice touch with some fine pedal-steel and acoustic guitar work and Chuck Haas weaves his fretboard spirit into Jason's songs of loss, indecision and love. The result is a delicate presentation of contemporary folk music with lyrics that represent this journey in which we are all on together.


"As relevant now, it seems, as it was when written in the 60's, is Jason's cover of Bob Dylan's "Let Me Die in my Footsteps." Bennett does a wonderful job in trying to live up to one of his greatest musical influences. His emulation of Dylan's singing style is in no way forced, but is lovingly and successfully attempted. If there were one song I would hope to be pushed for radio time, it would be this one. I admire Bennett for the certain bravery in which he covered this Dylan tune out of the vast options available, all the more because "Let Me Die in my Footsteps" was never released on any Dylan LP. Though Bennett's voice is not as arresting as Dylan's, it is certainly easier to listen to. 'Mindchange' is a solid indie folk album."

    The music industry today has become a machine of digital noise and excess. To hear a CD like "Mindchange" from Jason Bennett is simply a breath of fresh air. Jason's solo acoustic cover version of Dylan's "Let Me Die in my Footsteps" is delicately performed with a passion rarely heard today. You can take all the loud digital keyboard crap, all the loud drum programming and all the unnecessary glam of todays pop world and burn it. I will take Jason's soft vocals and guitars any day over that stuff. This is one fine CD, and one damn fine songwriter.

    Well kiddos, every time I hear ol'Jason put out another new CD, I am more impressed than the last! Sweet vox, great phrasing, sublime music, tantalizing lyrics, smooth music - all around charm and exquisite performance. Add a heap o' one of the best covers I've ever heard of a Dylan song and a rare classic at that!!! Share with with all ye kindred souls!

    I didn't think Jason could put out a more intimate album than his 2005 release 'Acoustic Harbor' (which remains one of my all-time favs to this day), but Jason follows it up with a magnificent collection or original material here. 'Mindchange' is real folk music. I really like how he trusts his vocals. No hype, no computer-generated fake music. Just a real guy with some real songs. "Tequila" is one of the most authentic songs about alcohol that you will find. Overall, an excellent 4th cd by a wonderful writer.

    loved it loved it loved it! wonderful muscian.Love the voice, its getting better each cd. I will buy it and let my friends and family hear it playing everytime they walk in my house.
