Album Notes

Jason Gallagher and Josh Martin met each other in early 1999, and quickly became a regular duo on the New York City acoustic music scene. But mostly, they hung out, drank beer, and played music. Martin taught Gallagher about bluegrass, and Gallagher kept playing his own damn songs. So they compromised and recorded nine of them.

Bluegrass legend Tony Rice is Gallagher's guitar god, and John Prine his storytelling guru. The acoustic guitar is dominant on this album, with Martin adding just the right amount of dobro, mandolin, bass.

Gallagher's band, Leroy Justice, is an east coast powerhouse of bourbon rock. They performed at SXSW in 2003, and are touring during the summer. Their first EP can be found right here at CDBaby.com.

Martin's bluegrass trio, Mary and Mars, plays regularly at bars and festivals in Santa Fe, NM and other southwestern towns. They too can be found on CDBaby.com.
