The Wait Was Worth It
author: Robert Zimmermann
The new CD "In Another Life" from Jason Levasseur did nothing but brighten my day. I went to my mailbox, opened the envelope, and smiled. Then I popped it into my computer, again nothing but a huge smile across my face. Not only did the song "Looking for the Girl" stand out for me (because of a preview Jason gave on one of his sites,) but a few other familiar tunes struck my ear. Ever since my first listen on Jason's "The Opening Guy: Live At Eddie's Attic" album a few years ago, I have been wanting to hear a studio version of the song "Fiddle." Here it is folks. A slightly more uptempo feel to it and some more instrumentation. This is what makes Jason such an amazing musician. His live show and work in the studio are two different animals, and yet they are both just as enjoyable. A few others that I'm glad made it on here are "Big Sky" and "Change." Both have held up to my expectations. As for the rest of the album, I think my expectations were both met as well as exceeded. The news tracks are catchy and stuck in my head even a week after first listening to the album.
BOTTOM LINE: I've been eager to buy "In Another Life" from the first time I read that Jason was going back into the studio a few months ago. Now that I have it in my hand, I can say I am far from disappointed.
If you are a fan of Jason Levasseur, go and buy this album today!

I can't get "Parachute" out of my head. But I keep skipping around on what's my favorite track.
Well produced, great stories, pleasant voice - all the way around it's a very enjoyable CD. You should buy it and give it a listen. You'll find you'll listen a lot.
