Album Notes

"The musical score for a film is just as important to the story as the picture. It requires just as much attention as the edit and work done on set, if not more. When working with composers Jason and Nolan Livesay on the score for "Bounty", we started from scratch without the crutch of a temp score, discussing moods and ideas that could be incorporated musically. If I had an idea, I would share it with them, much like I do with actors, in order to discover a feeling for a scene or a mood for a particular moment or character in the film. Every time I heard what they had composed, I was blown away by the detail and emotion they were able to pack into a small amount of music, going beyond what I had envisioned and creating a flavor for the scenes even stronger than what I had expected. I hope you enjoy this score as much as I do."
JARED ISHAM, Director ("Bounty")

"Jason & Nolan Livesay create music with great power, beauty, and sensitivity. Their music has the power to heal...the power to inspire...the power to move the spirit."
-JEFF OTERO, Walt Disney Imagineering

"Jason & Nolan Livesay are true artists and prolific musicians who create riveting music packed with energy, soul, and beauty."
-MICHAEL OLSON, Paramount Pictures

"There is no one who can match the combination of collaboration, musical skill, performance, and dedication to the furthering of cinematic music than Jason & Nolan Livesay."
-MARK EDWARD LEWIS, CEO LEM Media Production

"I'm constantly amazed by the versatility, virtuosity, and variety Jason & Nolan Livesay bring to every project. They are phenomenal musicians!"
-LEE SANDERS, New Line Cinema & CBS Television

Jason & Nolan Livesay, identical twins from Southern California, began their music career at the age of eight when they started studying the violin. By the time they graduated from high school, they were performing professionally, had won national violin competitions, and were composing for full orchestra. They attended Azusa Pacific University where they studied violin and composition and later studied film scoring at University of California Los Angeles.

As composers and conductors, Jason & Nolan are currently scoring feature films, writing commissioned works, and musical directing and conducting theatrical productions. They both hold conducting positions with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, and have composed for Dreamworks, Paramount Pictures, Columbia Pictures, MGM, Warner Brothers, FoxFaith Films, Nickelodeon, CBS, and MTV, earning Gold Classic Telly Awards for their work in television. They have premiered original concert works with the Lake Avenue Chamber Orchestra, the Sonus Quartet, the Golden State Pops Orchestra, the APU Symphony Orchestra, and the Michael Skidgel Singers. Among over 40 film and television credits, recent projects include the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" DVD video game, the original score for the feature film western "Bounty," original music for the film series "36 Parables," original music for the award-winning documentary "Dear Francis," and additional music arranging and orchestration for J.A.C. Redford's epic score for the feature film "One Night with the King" starring Peter O'Toole.

As violinists, Jason & Nolan have performed with many regional orchestras, including the Lake Avenue Chamber Orchestra, the Redlands Symphony, the San Bernardino Symphony, the Torrance Symphony, the YMF Debut Orchestra, the Golden State Pops Orchestra, and also work freelance for albums and movie scores. They have performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall and have worked with such conductors as John Williams and Michael Tilson Thomas, and have accompanied such artists as Josh Groban, Peter Cetera, Bela Fleck, Linda Eder, Jubilant Sykes, and Chris Botti, and have been seen on The American Music Awards, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The twins have also formed a unique electric violin duo, sharing their blend of original and popular music all over the world, currently opening for artists such as Sheryl Crow, Smash Mouth, Huey Lewis, Ace Young, and Starship. They have also appeared in Las Vegas and as headliners on Celebrity and Crystal Cruises.
