ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Boasting no less than twenty tracks, the artist's eponymous CD was an aural feast, a dense collection of songs ranging from the dreamy and meditative rhythms of " Spoon Bender," "Soul Song," and "Stampede," to the quirky and tuneful crowd-pleasers "Tuesday," "Tucson," and "Crazy," to the soulful lamentations of "The Core" and "Yin Yang Johnny," and, finally, to the expressive and emotive melodies of "Faster" and "Gotta Believe." Jason Roe's eclectic mix of songs defies the listener to reach for the "skip track" button because each subsequent song varies so greatly tonally, stylistically, and thematically to the previous tracks, that to hear them all at once is to go on a musical journey in which the terrain is ever-changing, yet somehow constant, as the destination draws closer at hand.

To listen to Jason Roe is to witness the evolution of an extremely talented artist whose star is rapidly continuing on its skyward ascent. His music continues to engage his ever-growing audience on a level beyond that of a mere singer-songwriter with an innate ability to entertain. Though Jason Roe is a self-proclaimed "optimistic cynic," his lyrics and music reflect the thoughts of someone who is constantly in tune, and constantly struggling to stay in tune, with the world he lives in and the discordant emotions that are often experienced as a result of his desire to communicate with his fellow travelers.
