"This is a thoroughly enjoyable record from a fine songwriter. If you haven't already listened to this recording, I suggest you do so immediately."
- John Prine
Jason Wilber has performed all over the U.S. and Europe, playing a variety of instruments while backing up notable folk, rock, and country artists such as Carrie Newcomer, Todd Snider, Hal Ketchum, Kim Fox, Greg Trooper, Tim Grimm, and Iris DeMent. Since 1996, Jason has played lead guitar for songwriting legend John Prine. His work with Prine includes two Grammy nominated albums, most notably the CD In Spite of Ourselves, which spent 32 weeks on the Billboard Country Charts.
An award-winning songwriter in his own right, Jason's 1998 solo debut CD, Lost In Your Hometown (Flat Earth Records) received excellent reviews in industry publications like The Gavin Report, No Depression, and Option's Inside Report. His 2000 follow-up CD, Behind the Midway also enjoyed widespread praise. Highlights like Jason's songs "The Ballad of Amazing Grace and Sideshow Dan" and "Goin' Fishin'", helped Behind the Midway win a 4-star review in Music City's daily paper, The Tennessean.
Jason Wilber's TV and radio appearances include Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Sessions At West 54th Street, Austin City Limits, Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, CNN's Entertainment Week, The Road, Mountain Stage, E-Town, and The Grand Ole Opry.
King For A Day, Jason's third solo CD, has created a bit of a stir, due to a Woody Guthrie style talking blues song called "Talk About 69". The song lampoons the political process behind, and the heated public debate over, a proposed $1.8 billion major interstate highway project that would cut through thousands of acres of rural Southern Indiana forest and farmland.

Happy to say another great purchase just arrived from cd baby.
I've known of Jason Wilber for a couple of years, but did'nt hear about his new record. I bought it without even sampling
a track. I work at a AAA radio station in CT and have already
played "Dont Be Cruel" and "Pay Bo Diddley" a few times.
Another solid disc from Jason Wilber full of great stories put to song. Pick this one up and don't miss out on the older releases from this talented songwriter. A welcome addition to my shows.
