ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Finally!!! This is a limited release of the 1980 debut album from the band Jaugernaut from Olympia, Washington. The tracks were remastered from the original half inch masters. This album has been a long time in coming, Prior to this release, locating this album on vinyl has caused many a collector to dig deep. The music has been flawlessly remastered directly from the half inch masters. When finally located in a box under Jim Valentines home in Los Angeles in 2006, The tapes were so fragile that they had to undergo a process called 'Baking' to reseal the magnetic material back on to the mylar backing. The result though, is staggering! NOMATTER HOW FLAWLESS YOUR VINYL COPY OF THIS ALBM MAY BE, you will never hear it with the clarity found in this remastered version. I recall in Jaugernauts early days we used to talk frequently about how the album had sounded a bit dull, like someone had put a layer of wax paper over the surface of the record.. but today all that is gone... All you hear is the music the way it was intended to sound.
You simply have to hear this to believe it!

Original critics were quick to point out that songwriting and performances on this album are second to none, but that this album sounded like a late 70's indie recording, (which, of course, it is!), but the new masters will change your perception of what a early 1980's independent release can sound like. So Get your ears on!
