Six years of touring across North America and Europe, three critically-acclaimed albums and a Canadian Juno nomination have established John Reischman and the Jaybirds as a top-flight band in bluegrass music.
With a unique traditional sound, the mandolin master and his band are known for powerful original songs and instrumentals, soaring vocals and refreshing interpretations of songs from the old-time repertoire presented with their own bluegrass twist.
The outstanding "Field Guide" (Copper Creek CCCD 0221; in Canada, Corvus CR 010), their second CD, was nominated in the 2003 Juno Awards for best roots and traditional group, and selected by Acoustic Guitar magazine as one of the top CDs of 2003.
The Jaybirds’ sparkling self-titled debut album was released in 2001.
Their third album, "The Road West," was released in 2005. "The musicianship is, as ever, flawless," Vancouver’s Georgia Straight magazine said on release of The Road West.
"Stellar Jays," their fourth CD was released in the spring of 2007.

A masterpiece
author: Roland Berg
It´s remarkable that so many good musicians reside in the great Northwest. This group are among the finest for sure. The songs "Say Darlin´Say" and "Shackled and Chained" are my special favourites. Great job.
