Album Notes

Half Life is an exploration of death, airports and morgues, of cremation, ashes and mischievous ghosts. Orchestrating live percussions, strings and samples, Jay takes us on a journey through his year in 2007.

At eighteen, Jay Green packed up his old Plymouth and left his tiny town in upstate New York to work in the thriving downtown Los Angeles theater scene. The next 4 years, Jay worked as a technician, musician and performer in the once renowned Pipeline productions with his best friend Scott Kelman. His experience with Scott and his exploratory performance work forged Jay’s future as an experimental, no-boundaries musician. His best friend Scott died in 2007.

We loved it!! We listened to it all the way through, and then repeated "On Eight" about 10 times! Jay Green is an extremely gifted and talented artist with an incredible ear for coalescing instruments with the rights sounds to make truly beautiful music. This CD is definitely a "keeper" for our collection.
