Album Notes

Take Jay Patten's smooth vocals along with his distinctive saxophone solos, add the exciting new Swing Noir Orchestra featuring the imaginative arrangements of Jeff Steinberg and special guest legendary jazz clarinetist-Buddy Defranco, and you've got "All In Blue Tme"- A collection of 14 vocal tracks and 2 instrumentals (including a great new version of Jackie Gleason's "Melancholy Serenade"

The songs range from classic standards (check out "Far Away Places" and "It's Funny To Everyone but Me") to a couple of 60's pop tunes ("Our Day Will Come" and "Those Were The Days") done with a swinging new twist!

Jay wrote 7 brand new songs for "All In Blue Time" that convey -joy, romance, mystery, and some Big Band humor ("Gang Of Angels," "Saxophone" and "Forget About It").

"Blue" Jay Patten brings his career experiences (vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, studio musician, music director for Crystal Gayle, bandleader, & performer) to "All In Blue Time". With style and flare he will take you to a time when swing was cool and love seemed to matter more.... "You'll get through those nights-All In Blue Time"

ALL IN BLUE TIME is a fantastic combination plate of old classics, blues, swing, plus even a bit of the old mob is revisited & coming to life all uniquely created in JAY PATTEN\'S very imaginative way. He along with the The great Buddy Defranco\'s cookin clarinet soloing just added ice cream to the cake to this music lover\'s delight album.I was pleasantly surprised and I highly recommend it.

I'am a buddy deFranco fan (among other clarinetists)that was my reason to buy this CD; and than I discovered jay and the band . A nice surprise indeed, though I prefer the instrumental rather the the vocalist. (this is a personal and subjective mean )

I have enjoyed Jay Patten's performances for several years with the Crystal Gayle aggregation, as well as on his own CD's. Believe me, this CD does not disappoint. The arrangements, as well as the performances and the quality of the recording, are excellent. A plus is the appearance of the great Buddy Defranco.

I love this CD. The combination of his voice and the instruments creates a fun and romantic mood. I especially like Flight from South Jersey and Forget About it. Dance in your Dreams is a great song for slow dancing. Actually the whole CD contains some fabulous songs for dancing or just listening with a glass of wine or a martini. I can't wait for the next CD by Jay Patten.
