Album Notes

Christopher Lutyens writes and performs all of his music in his home studio on the Island of Jamestown. With almost thirty years in Southern New England's offshore lobster industry, well over one hundred thousand hours of sea time, he often dreamed of the day when he could write and produce his music along with his memoirs. That day arrived last July when his beautiful Ralph Stanley 44' Lobsterboat caught fire, burned and sank as Chris watched helplessly from the life raft awaiting rescue.
And so a new chapter in his life began.
Pushing fifty years old but awake for nearly forty five of them, Chris decided it was now or never. Currently in the midst of the publishing process, his auto-biography is nearing completion. With tales of shore side madness and mayhem intertwined with decades of high jinx on the high seas, the story of Chris's fascinating life promises to be an interesting read.
Presently splitting his days between the written word and his lifelong passion, his music, influenced by the great masters of the ivories, Keith, Chick, Lyle Mays and a whole host of others in the traditional and more modern world of jazz, the sound flows from Chris as he creates it. Playing the piano, bass, acoustic guitar and drums, Chris improvises each track until he feels it's right, the end result being a quality and feel to the music that leads one to believe their listening to four or five guys in a band.
