Album Notes

Jazzmatic has changed gears with this smooth, yet aromatic scent of hooks and grooves. This Cd is, a Virtual Drive. Just close your eyes, lay back and reminisce of those times of your life, which really hit the spot. I’ll prescribe this compilation to take you away from the present; to remain there would only suggest you take another dose. I found myself playing it a few times and experiencing something different with each play. I would be more than happy to express which tracks were my favorites, but since our daily lives put us in different moods, so were my favorites. Virtual Drive is addictive, damn, it’s addictive.

The Virtual Drive CD, should be called, what a trip. I had the pleasure of meeting this extraordinary group at one of their concerts in Atlanta GA, last year. I was totally blown away by the fact, it was only two people on stage! The enormous amount of power coming from these guys, and that Hammond B-3, blew my doors off.

Will Culbreath called me while in Spain and said a new Jazzmatic CD was going to be released in June. He sent a copy to review. Well, the package arrives, and in the player it went. The first track, Nightly Confessions, forced me to call an old boyfriend and invite him over for a few drinks, if you get what I mean? Go in peace, put this old woman’s feet in motion with a hint of Latin, baby. Pieces, was as smooth as butter, the sound of a hollow body, sends chills down my spine. I played this one a few times along with that, Nightly Confessions. Now, Garbage, what is going on here? There is no Garbage here, this was a funky groove! To the fans of the Hammond organ, It’s presence was beautifully delivered throughout the CD This is a group that keeps fans on their toes, and the versatility is so much fun. I loved it all, can’t wait to see what’s next. Virtual Drive is a keeper for you collection. Thank you Jazzmatic.

I was blessed to see this awesome duo live on their Intimate Settings tour last month in Cincinnati Ohio and loved the music and the energy. Virtual Drive is so much fun to listen to. It just takes you places. If you get a chance to meet and talk to Will and Yahannes, they will show you they are the genuine article.

We love the CD, My little 1st graders will listen to it all day. I must admit our favorite is Cajun Sunrise, they jump around and dance, dance, dance. Your CD is so well rounded, I can feel the moods you were in. I've told the parents where they can purchase it. Look forward to the tour.
