As the name suggests,jazz is the prime cornerstone of the Jazzy Devils.The mixture of other musical genres entertwined within the original compositions by Peter Cor,gives the Jazzy Devils a unique flavor,a little"devilish" in nature,off the beaten path.
Based in the Monterey Bay(Santa Cruz,Ca,)the band was founded by Peter Cor(keyboards,compositions),with Gary Regina(saxes),Chris Miller(drums),RoxyMcDaniel(bass),and Renato Annicchiarico(percussion).
Peter Cor's compositions are a reflection of his musical experiences which have taken him to 3 continents,and bring together many influences from many parts of the world.
A native of NYC,but also having spent time in Europe,and LA,you can hear elements of Funk,Latin,Classical,Fusion,Hip Hop, and World music.
He has composed music for Earth Wind& Fire,Lee Ritenour,Tuck&Patti,Lenny White,and others.He has had his music used in films like Muppets From Space,The Sixth Man,TV shows like Bernie Mac,Pimp My Ride...as well as dance and theater performances.
Another NYC native,Gary Regina(sax,Marina,Ca),is a versatile player,also able to switch musical gears at the drop of a hat.
Chris Miller(drums,San Jose,Ca) has studied percussion with drum masters in the Senegal(West Africa),and is able to channel his love for polyrhythms,to go anywhere the beat takes him.
Renatto Annicchiarico(percussion,Santa Cruz,Ca)is originally from Milan,Italy.He has performed with various groups in both Europe and the US.He brings his magic touch to accentuate the flavor of each tune,whatever style it may be.
Roxy McDaniel(bass,Santa Cruz,Ca) is originally from Wiesbaden,Germany.Another international player with worldly experience, he keeps the bottom thumpin'and poppin'.
The combination of all these musicians and their musical experiences,gives the Jazzy Devils an upbeat mixture of rhythms and melodies that will get your toes tapping for sure.
