Album Notes

JBÁ is rap duo consisting of two distinct styles that blend to make a unique and exciting sound not apparent in today's mainstream music. JB's smooth, Harlem, street savvy twist, along with his ill metaphors, compliment and are complemented by Á's rugged, urban-Latino delivery. The two not only bring a street flavor to their tracks, but show their musical versatility on the more commercial tracks "Uh Oh (remix)" ft. Noah and "Sup Ma," while they also show their ability to be conscience of today's' social issues in "Listen" and "Got Something To Say." Together they form the group JBÁ, but never doubt that each cannot hold their own ground, as this is evident on their solo tracks in Checkmate (JB's "Another Day" and Á's "Life Mind"). Now listen, they've got something to say; "Checkmate mothafuckaz!"

Located centrally in Boston, MA, klapmusic is an independent record label dedicated to quality hip-hop music. The range of styles represented at klapmusic is diverse, as the label is equally comfortable pushing the boundaries of sonic convention as they are making comfortable 'feel good' music, and everything in between. The development of artists' unique styles is practiced, rather than imposing an image, a style; the idea is that there are only two types of music; good and bad.
