Album Notes

J. Blues is a blues guitarist from Cleveland, Ohio playing the local club scene. Recently, he released his new CD, "Red, White & Blues" (2002). The CD is a tribute to the roots of American music going back to the early advent of delta slide playing. The influences of the early blues artists, namely, Hound Dog Taylor, Muddy Waters, Lightning Hopkins, and Elmore James directly contributed to J. Blues style. He has taken their styles and added his own twist. His style "sounds a lot like high heeled sneakers", stated Denny Carleton, a local radio personality.

The all-acoustic sound of "Red, White & Blues" was created and produced by J. Blues. It is a compilation of some of blues' oldest, most popular tunes, such as Sweet Home Chicago, Black Cat, and Gimme Back My Wig. The upbeat blues sound found on the CD is a welcome addition to the genre and has been receiving airplay on a local radio stations. In addition to playing live club dates in the Cleveland area, J. Blues is currently working on an all-electric CD to be released in 2004. More information can be obtained by visiting www.jblues.net.

Mr. Blues has a unique style and a love for the blues, he plans to bring his music to the foreground of the music industry.

This CD is an amazing compilation of "back to basic" blues, just acoustic slide guitar and blues harp. From the very first track (the incomparable "Black Cat"), right thru to the last notes of "Rock Me", this CD grabs you by the throat and kicks you in the ass. J. Blues has masterful control of one of America's greatest art forms. I highly recomend this CD to anyone who has even a passing interest in the blues.

And so it came to pass, that a manchild would be born. And that he would set forth upon this strange land of Cleve bringing music to the people, and the people would rejoice.
