James Bond has laid down beats for everyone from Cannibal Ox to billy woods to Monsta Island Czars, dropped an EP of his own (Eminent Domain), collaborated on a mixtape with MeccaGodZilla (Soundclash #1), anchored the production on NYC supergroup The Reavers debut; TERROR FIRMA and now delivers his first solo full-length. Well, solo on the production tip anyway, because he brought an army of talented mc's with him. Vordul Mega of Cannibal OX, Hasan Salaam & Hi-Coup of Fifth Column, Priviledge, Keith Masters, Akir (Immortal Techniques labelmate), Creature (from MF DOOM's Vaudeville Villain LP), MykCee of Proximity Minds and of course, billy woods. On top of this wealth of lyrical talent 007 also brings a gallon of beats that effortlessly blend in and out of one another. He doesn't just put together instrumentals, each track is its own little story, Bond's use of samples and found dialogue is unparalleled. Over the course of this 70 minute LP, Bond probably runs through 50 different beats and almost every genre of music thats ever been recorded. Expect the unexpected, light your blunt, clean your guns, fix your bike chain, put away the good silverware because like a wise man once said "It's only like five percent out of a hundred!"

Golden Gunn is defnitely worth the eight bucks if you are a fan of The Reavers, Madlib, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Count Bass D, or really any out-of-the ordinary undergound hiphop. Bond keeps you guessing with the beats, switching them up and using lots of crazy samples but theres also sum dope tracks with rappin from all of The Reavers but mostly woods and vordal. it goes between funny and political and real dark drug shit, but its all ill.
