"The Beautiful One"...a very pretentious CD title, you might think....
but......the song goes something like this:
Never been one of the beautiful ones
Even when this day is done
You wouldn't want to bring me home to mom.
Because I've never been one of the
Beautiful ones.......
Brutal honesty....This CD is full of it...a sample verse from 'House of Sorrows':
She is crying again
And there's nothing I can do
She just looks at me
And she blames me for her life
I didn't know it was going to be like this
That there would be no tomorrows
In this house of Sorrows
Jim Butler is a singer/songwriter from New Hampshire, and has been writing and performing since his mid teens. His focus is on relationships and the changing world around him. Rather than trying to explain who he is or what he does, he provides another example of his songwriting from ' Home':
Time to fold these ragged old rags
Time pack this well traveled bag
Time to leave all this empty hurt
I want to go home
Time to play this beat up old guitar
Time to drive this rusted old car
I guess it was time to let down my guard
I want to go home
Here are a few reviews of Jim's music from ACIDPLANET.com (where all of the songs Jim has posted have made it into the top ten on the folk listings, including a number one song):
10 out of /10 : Hello
I just spent time at the Rocky Mountain Folk festival and i've got to hand it to you.. this song is better than 95% of what i heard there.. Your voice is excellent and its nice to hear a song with a real instrument.. very nicely produced.
