Jamie Byrd is a San Francisco-based singer/songwriter who writes imaginative songs with a master painter's eye, in an intelligent, intuitive language uniquely her own. With an ever-respectful nod to the fine tradition of Joni Mitchell and other notable folk divas, Jamie's music graces the airwaves alongside her contemporaries, Dar Williams, Patty Griffin, Norah Jones, and Alison Krauss.

Once managed by rock impresario Bill Graham, her former band members went on to become Counting Crows. She has sung backup for Sylvia Tyson, appears with Neil Young on Joanne Shenandoah's last album, recorded soundtrack demos for Steven Spielberg, and opened for notables such as Crowded House and Chris Isaak. She has been awarded a CLIO and received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Jamie Byrd is also a producer and owner of Byrdhouse Recording Studios in San Francisco.

Jamie currently performs on the folk circuit across the country and in Europe, at such venues as The Kerrville Folk Festival, The Great American Music Hall, and other fine music festivals and listening rooms showcasing the best in original music.

I loved the whole package - music & art - but if you want one track to hook you, listen to "Rain". A lush standout track in which Jamie's stunning voice and guitar work is beautifully supported by a glorious string section - of 2! More of this please!

Jamie's voice is very recognizable - it has a beautiful quality to it. Her songs have a folk-like sweet sensibility to them and are created with airy type melodies. The CD sound quality is excellent as well.
