Album Notes

Jackson County Line's second album, "South", brings a rock edge to this traditionally laid back seven piece ensemble. Unique instrumentation featuring cello, horns, mandolin, and pedal steel temper this as three part vocals tell stories of the joy, the beauty, and the melancholy of life in the South. A healthy dose of guitar brings it up a notch on such tracks as "It's Only Fair" and "8-29" but the band that once described themselves as "utterly kick-a** mellow" holds true to course on other tracks such as "The South" and "Leaves". If you live in the South this album will resonate true to you. If you don't live in the South, it might just make you wish you did.

'Good Music coming back to town'

I've been a Jackson County Line fan since their debut album, which I still love and play. The lyrics, melodies, musicality and not to forget vocals of Kevin Jackson make this band a force to be reckoned with. The best way for me to put it is if you like Allison Krauss, Norah Jones and The Dixe Chicks "Home' album, you will absolutely love Jackson County Line. I know I do.
