notes

John Cunningham is referred to by many as somewhat of a Penn State icon. He has been entertaining students at the university's main campus for almost two decades. His mix of folk-rock originals and cover tunes spanning the likes of Paul Simon, John Prine and James Taylor along with his flawless presentation makes his music appealing to all who hear it. Though based primarily in State College, PA, John performs solo as well as with his rock and roll cover band, The Screaming Ducks at a variety of functions for his extensive fan base of present and former Penn State students.

John lives in State College, PA with his wife and their three sons.

  • learned a lot

as much as learned in the classroom at PSU, I learned just as much from my drunken happy hours at the cafe...love, life, women,friendship...etc. John Cunningham brings it all back with his music.

  • Fondest memories...

If there were one point in time I could revisit, it would have to be seeing John Cunningham stomping on his wooden box in his converse sneakers at Zeno's on a Sunday night. Nobody tops J.C.!!

  • I love to hear john's voice again, it takes me back

Listening to John sing about relationships and the struggle with sobriety in a college setting is how I spent my time at Penn State. Being older now, and hearing his music again is like seeing an old friend. The acoustics in every song are wonderful and the harmonies are outstanding.

  • Amazing

I love hearing such a mellow song about where I live.
