Album Notes

Jonnie Dog and the Dingos have been playing their brand of surf music for more than a quarter-century. The advantage to this is immediately obvious when you listen to this debut CD, as these songs have passed a rigorous vetting process of beach parties and bars. Purists will appreciate the vintage guitar twang while the rock solid drum beat and catchy rhythms create a fun, party-like atmosphere that can be enjoyed by all. (Kids love it!) With a handful of vocal tracks interwoven between the solid instrumentals, TRACKS ends up being one of the more listenable surf CDs around.

The songs vary widely, like the sea--sometimes pleasant and relaxing and other times heavy and pounding. From the swirling, enchanting sound of “Lorelei,” to the love ballad “Annette,” to the rockabilly-ish “Rattlesnake,” to the driving sounds of “El Diablo,” this CD creates the complete beach party experience. Also check out “Poolside Bar,” the story of our surf safaris where sometimes the boards only got wet if it rained. And don’t forget “Three Dollar Shirt,” which epitomizes fun, bouncy and upbeat.

So, wax down your board, grab a cold one and check out these TRACKS.
