Only a band of four 20 year olds from the Imperial Valley could coin the name "encal" as a means to define their music. By fusing the sounds of England with those of California, JD Romance has managed to create a genre of music that is distinctly their own.
Originally from El Centro, California, a town 99.9% of the world's population will never travel to, the four band members Anthony, (vocals/guitar) Peter, (guitar) Art (bass) and Turtle (drums) formed JD Romance in 2004.
After gigging all throughout Imperial Valley, the band quickly realized that they would need a bigger city to play in. In 2005, JD Romance moved to San Diego where they now reside.
