Jeanay Say Qua is a singer-songwriting poet who has traveled and lived in Africa, the Caribbean, and Japan, bringing stories of life in foreign climates back home. Jeanay Say Qua surprises audiences singing lyrical stories in English as well as many languages from around the globe. Sweet melodies and international rhythms suggest the origins of each song. This is clever storytelling from an emancipated feminine perspective that gives a person a good chuckle, but darnit something to think about! Expect a traveling cabaret on a carpet ride of Latin grooves, Caribbean rythms, African beats, and good ol' swing, funk, and disco. "Tinctures of Love" is a wonderful collection of stories from the heart. A true believer in the healing power of poetic messages and music, Jeanay Say Qua and her talented orchestra present a collection of music that is a grooving, hypnotic, and positively concious journey.

What a voice! This cd made me want more and kept me so curious as to what would come next...I was either shakin my booty, or laughing hysterically at my ability to relate to Nice Man w/ Money and Choosy Baby! I was all over this. She showed so much ability and scale of talent from so many reaches while capturing my soul and ear! Muchisimo gracias, mi linda!

author: Lampost
At one level, JSQ takes us on a quick musical spin around the rhythmic locales of the globe (major stops in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and New York) with arrangements that allow ample space for all the performers to shine. At a deeper level, one is hit with the messages in her thought-provoking lyrics, and phrasing that weaves the vocals and music into attention grabbing images.

Perhaps not as small or large as you would like.
Perhaps it does not matter.

And AWE! is a wonderfull place to be.
A rare five stars.
