Jean Caze : Miami Jazz Scene

Miles Davis meets Erykah Badu. Too sophisticated to make it onto your smooth jazz station, despite it being instrumental and having a backbeat. This is orig-O-nal contemporary jazz at it's best.

Album Notes

Winner of the 2006 International Trumpet Guild Jazz Competition, Jean Caze has emerged as one of today’s most exciting new voices in jazz. Though only twenty-three, Jean has performed with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Najee, Arturo Sandoval , John Fadis, Randy Brecker, and Bob Mintzer, to name a few. Jean also played with the legendary rock group “Chicago” live on NBC, and has opened for the Wynton Marsalis Quartet. Jean began playing the trumpet at age nine and says, "It took three days to get any sound at all out of it". He went on to be awarded scholarship after scholarship to attend some of the country's top musical institutions, including the Julliard MAP (Music Advancement Program) and the Queens College CPSM (Center for Preparatory Studies in Music) program. Jean’s diverse musical abilities have won him numerous awards and recognition, including a free trumpet from VH1’s Save the Music program, and a chance to perform with the elite Grammy High School Jazz Band. One of Jean's many scholarships led him to the prestigious Manhattan School of Music where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree. Album Info The music on Jean's debut album, "Miami Jazz Scene" was inspired by Jean's diverse musical experiences while in the sunshine state. Great Musicians, Great Songs
author: Gabriel B.
The CD as a whole not only demonstrated the exquisite talent of the main artist, but also the incomparable skills of the sidemen that made this outstanding musical experience possible. Anyone who would like to be among the first to hear a group, in particular a leading soloist and composer who has the talent and musical passion to lead the next wave of musicians into and beyond the 21st century, would be doing themselves a great service by purchasing this album and joining the artists in this musical experience. I give an A+ to this album.
