ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
'Notes Out of the Blue' is Jean’s first album and is a compilation of sensitive and catchy songs ranging from reflections on society, domesticity and love, to fun songs about coffee and franglais (a curious mixture of English and French).

The music genre is a mix of melodious folk, acoustic, rock, with a touch of soft female vocals.

The start of ‘Notes Out of Blue’ began in 2006 when events conspired to take Jean’s life in an unexpected direction. The first song written ‘Destiny’, also known as the ‘The Cancer Song’, was written during chemotherapy for breast cancer. The acoustic version was played on the guitar that Jean’s parents bought for her aged 13 – many moons ago blue ones included. ‘Friday Night’ quickly followed – a song inspired by an excellent evening at an Irish Pub during which the England rugby team was victorious. 'An Ode To An Aussie' tells the tale of a tender, folorn love affair.

Being a die hard fan since way back, Jean wrote ‘Night On The Town’ recalling going to many Rod Stewart gigs over the years.

The songs were recorded in 2008 at CHMusiq Music Productions in Geneva, Switzerland and the album was released in February 2009.
