Album Notes

first of all i liked to say that there would be no jed hover revue without tim kelliher. tim has been there since the beginning on all my projects. thank you tim.tim has co written over twenty five songs with me. i am very grateful to tim . we have been performing together for over forty years starting with TUMBLEWEED in1972. mike beausoleil has played with me for the same period. juan perez joined us in 1991 on drums. billy delk starting recording with jed hover revue in 1997.along with myself ,jed hover, we produced the music for NO PARKING ZONE. IT WAS RECORDED STARTING in 1998. in 1996 i began stock pilling words and ideas to present to tim for these songs. we sometimes work my words and melodies and then tim adds the musical appropriatness to make the finished songs. sometimes it works the other way around with tim playing some riffs and rythems and i write words that fits his music. like pot luck . i had a version based on different words and tim liked the bridge. we fiddled around and shortly after went to billy's and played the version you hear live and unchanged for this cd. the title track was conceived after a long session of listening to elvis presley .songs little sister and heartbreak hotel spawned NO PARKING ZONE WHERE EVERYBODY GETS TOWED away even THE BEATLES for parking in a no parking zone. the funny thing is that the cd was nearly finished when most of the tracks were lost or destroyed accidentally. pot luck , carolina mt time the storm and he won't come were salvaged. some of these tracks ended up on PON'S PICKS: UNFINISHED. NOT TO BE DISMAYED AND WITH ME IN MASS NOT KNOWIING the situation the rest of the band set dowm the music to the remaining songs. mike beausoleil steps up to the plate and sang a great version of HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN A WHILE. TIM BY SINGING THE VOCALS TO HIS Own CAROLINA MT TIME. I returned to orlando and did the vocals to the remaining tracks even though they were slightly different. the storm is a spoken word space jam about relationships and tough situations. yamagughi and martha's vineyard are greatful dead like space blues involving personal experiences on islands six thousand miles apart. he won't come was first recorded on a cassette on tim front porch. it was written about youngest son OWEN JAMES ANDgoes out to everyone ever having to deal with the autism spectrum. boy in man's clothing is blues about how i look at a lot of things and know i'm different yet blessed like my boys trevor and owen were. the cds cover is a pastel painting i did years ago of my brother john and have been waiting for the right time to release PON'S PICKS . WELL THE TIME IS NOW. LAstly for you baseball enthusiaists notice the back cover both fenway park with my son trev standing by the green monster thanks to russell georgia nua and yankee stadium where i sat for derek jeter's 3000th hit rock on hover THE JED HOVER REVUE WAS JED HOVER TIM KELLIHER MIKE BEAUSOLEIL JUAN PEREZ and BILLY DELK
