Album Notes

Jeff and Herb have been satisfying their listeners with their tight harmony since the 1980s. Tide Park includes some of the best songs they have written and sung together in the last few years as well as their strongest individual compositions. Primarily in the folk-rock style, these songs have arisen from the complexities of maintaining love relationships as well as the need to find peace and truth in our personal lives and our dealings with the world. “Forever, One Last Time”, “Love Taken For Granted”, “Turn on The Radio”, “Then There Comes You” and “Miracle” celebrate love or yearn for it to return. “Tell The Truth” and “Just to Pass the Time” are strong lyrical messages against the reckless warmongering and lying so prevalent in our modern society. The album also includes examples of other musical styles including “Keep On Ridin’ “ with its very danceable techno beat supporting its messages of the power of thinking of others as we positively move forward in our own lives; “Trust You With My Heart” with its natural jazz trio of piano, bass guitar and drums supporting the hope for a return to a trusting love; and “In My Dreams” with its Caribbean beat supporting its messages of living, loving and working together to sail into a better world. Tide Park ends with the multiple harmony “Let It Flow” meditation which reminds us to find joy in living.

Solid guitar work and restful musicianship …with a very Simon and Garfunkel sound

I love the sound of your vocal blend, reminiscent to me of Seals and Crofts, and I enjoyed the blend of acoustic guitar and keys…
