The perfect acoustic EP to follow up last year's band oriented "Try To Be Here" album. "Had To Be There" features the first ever acoustic recording of 'My Star' from Caudill's former band, Gameface. Plus a back porch version of 'Remember The Time' and an earthy version of 'The Reason Why I Still Live Here' from Caudill's electronic side-project, Floormodel. There's a brand new tune – an aptly titled lullaby, 'Song For a Princess' and a haunting cover of Frou Frou's 'Let Go'.
“He just takes a simple song, gives it the right vocal treatment, leaves out the superfluous and serves up a fine performance time after time.” – Americana U.K.

A nice little smattering of the Jeff Caudill oeuvre

The man is simply a non-stop music machine and I, for one, hope he keeps going for a long, long time to come.
