Album Notes

The perfect acoustic EP to follow up last year's band oriented "Try To Be Here" album. "Had To Be There" features the first ever acoustic recording of 'My Star' from Caudill's former band, Gameface. Plus a back porch version of 'Remember The Time' and an earthy version of 'The Reason Why I Still Live Here' from Caudill's electronic side-project, Floormodel. There's a brand new tune – an aptly titled lullaby, 'Song For a Princess' and a haunting cover of Frou Frou's 'Let Go'.

“He just takes a simple song, gives it the right vocal treatment, leaves out the superfluous and serves up a fine performance time after time.” – Americana U.K.

"Surely a work of the heart, oozing love for life and music." – Altsounds.com

"Instantly endearing." – The Big Takeover

A nice little smattering of the Jeff Caudill oeuvre

This 5 song EP provides the listener with a taste of (almost) everything from Jeff Caudill (arguably the hardest working man in Country: Alt-Country) and includes a brand new song and a nicely done cover of Frou Frou's "Let Go" from the Garden State soundtrack. The man is simply a non-stop music machine and I, for one, hope he keeps going for a long, long time to come.
