This album rates Jeff Dernlan as a songwriter to rate with the best operating within roots music today. His voice sounds somewhat like Steve Forbert on the morning after. The sparse arrangements work really well, particularly when enhanced by the subtle use of distortion and organ. Jeff Dernlan is definitely one to watch.
