JeFFHH pushes 'socially conscious' hip hop to a whole new level. Not only is the subject matter about exposing the systematic failures in the Gulf Coast post-Katrina, but all the proceeds from the album are being given to the returning Gulf Coast resident

Deeply moved by his community and political work in areas hit by hurricane Katrina, JeFFHH (je-flip flop hip hop) shares his experiences on these tracks. He hopes to educate the general public on current issues facing the residents of the Gulf Coast. All proceeds from the album will benefit the rebuilding efforts in the Gulf Coast. JeFFHH, pronounced “Jeffuh,” worked politically in the Gulf Coast with the Gulf Coast Civic Works project (www.solvingpoverty.com) organizing town hall meetings in New Orleans, Louisiana and Gulfport/Biloxi, Mississippi. He also did community outreach work in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a group of fellow Stanford University students.
What is Flip Flop Hip Hop? Flip Flop Hip Hop is the newest hip hop movement to hit the scene. FFHH champions "flipping" back to when mainstream rap had a more diverse (balanced) content, as well as stepping away from materialism to objectively analyze society. Another aspect of its namesake is to pay allegiance to its Northern California roots, the pervasive flip flops, and the laid-back yet astute sensibilities.
JeFFHH's work has been featured on Wild 94.9, KPFA 94.1, KZSU 90.1, Community Media Center Cable Television, The Palo Alto Weekly, The Stanford Alumi Magazine and The Stanford Daily.
JeFFHH has shared the stage with artists and activists such as Saul Williams, Afeni Shakur, Keak da Sneak, Mistah Fab and Rahman Jamaal. On this album he collaborates with established emcees such as MC Lars, K. Flay, Jidenna the Chief, Rahman Jamaal, and Tha Spitta.
