Thank you very much for visiting my CD Baby site! I would like to share my story with you.

Up until a year and a half ago I was only making music for “grown-ups.” A chance encounter with a very special young girl and her family added a whole new adventure to my musical career. I was at my mechanic’s one day waiting for an oil change when a family arrived to drop off their car. The parents went inside to speak with the mechanic while their two children came over to where I was seated. I was playing my guitar in the shade in front of my mechanic’s turtle pond. I began to softly strum a song about what I imagined the turtle lifestyle to be like. The young girl immediately placed her hands on my guitar and began to sing along in a very quiet voice and we “duetted” for almost fifteen minutes. I then realized that her parents were patiently waiting for me to finish. The little girl’s mother explained to me that her daughter was autistic and that they didn’t want to interrupt a song that was so calming for their child. She explained that her daughter had been having a meltdown and that "The Turtle song" seemed to re-direct her focus to something soothing.

I went home that night and reflected on how connected this little girl had been to the music. I decided to write this little girl her very own album. I wanted to fill it with music that any child would enjoy, no matter what their challenges were in life. I spoke with teachers and parents and got their input on the kinds of songs they would like to have available for their children. I have done my best to create a fun listening experience for the whole family. On this CD you will hear songs about working through challenges, a song about Stan the Man who claps his hands so quickly that he can fly, and songs about making mistakes, eating cinnamon toast, and the beauty of being “different.” You will also hear a song about a bi-lingual (Spanish/English) speaking squirrel who will help your children with their Spanish vocabulary!
