it is like visiting an old friend; comfortable, pleasant and re-assuring. Hank Linderman keeps it fresh with emphasis on modern production techniques and sounds, otherwise we might be just a tiny bit repetative. always eagerly awaiting the next Larson cd.

Hi~I have been listening over and over to my Left of a Dream since I got it. Jeff is definitely becoming a well rounded music artist, creating his own unique, harmonizing acoustic style. This cd is all that I anticipated and more. Wake up gets my attention, it is a snappy pick me up song. Anywhere She Goes is a 3 in 1 treat, America's Dewey Bunnell's background harmonizing definitely accents Jeff's unique style on this song, it has it all, rich acoustics, harmonizing vocals and I always love Jeff's way with lyrics. Ghosts of San Miguel will leave you hauntingly mesmorized, I always love when Jeff works with Gerry Beckley of America, the outcome is simply awesome. Jeff's vocals and acoustics are right on, once again he paints a vivid curiousity in his lyrics, and Gerry's keyboard wizardry accents this to complete this magical new gem. Red to Rust, highlights Jeff's Blue Grassy sound, and Jeff & Hank Linderman talents add a different dimension to his songs. Threat of Rain is a Simple free flowing sentimental song. Where is Indo, CA picks up the pace and Gerry & Jeff's harmonizing is nice. I am loving the Gentle blurr found in Karen, a soft twist of bluegrass in this song too. Whereabouts Unknown is a unique treat for sure, I love Jeff's vocals, his lyrics are hauntingly catching, and I love the acoustics too. California Rail will have you tapping your foot and singing along, and you can easily feel as though you are on this train ride, with Jeff's lyrics. Jeff Foskett's vocals accents Jeff's nicely on this song as well as Child's Play. Presiding Over Ruins & Easy On Me both are Simply Jeff shining nicely. I love the free flowing acoustics of Child's Play and once again Jeff reminds me of Dan Fogelberg, with the way his Vocals and lyrics makes each song a unique one. I like hearing this musical San Miguel-Reprise, I could listen to this over and over. Even though Be Here Anyway is the final song on this cd, it will make you want to hit the replay for more. I am loving hitting the replay on these songs. If you haven't heard any of Jeff's cds, this is an excellent cd to start with, you will soon be wanting to find his other cds, and appreciating his well rounded talent, like I do. As another reviewer has said before... Jeff Larson is rock's best kept secret. Left Of a Dream is another winner and one of Jeff's finest albums which has a real mellow, sweet sound. It's just a real gem. It's filled with awesome acoustic guitars, interesting lyrics, sweet vocals and lush harmonies. There isn't a single weak track on the album, I knew it would be a great album when I immediately loved "Wake Up" on a first listen, which is a sunny, "breezy", sweet song. But, unfortunately it's too short at only 1.40 seconds in length, I was hoping to hear a 3 or 4 minute song. I kept thinking "where's the rest of the song" and I wanted to hear more of it. Possibly Jeff will decide to re-record it someday as a bonus track with a longer version for another album? Other standout tracks are Karen, Where Is Indio, CA, Anywhere She Goes, Be Here Anyway, but everyone of them are excellent. The lyrics and instrumentation on Ghosts of San Miguel are interesting and just amazing. Another excellent song. Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell of America also helped out and added some interesting background vocals and also lended their other talents to the album. Jeff Foskett; another alum, also added some typically sweet vocals as he usually has, to this one too. With Left of a Dream Jeff has produced another gem, and if you like your music mellow and soothing with "sunny" or "breezy" and upbeat songs and with an interesting sound you won't be disappointed. I love this CD, it's highly recommmended! Left of a Dream rocks!
