Jeff Brown is a seasoned singer, songwriter and musician who has been performing and writing music for over twenty years. He had an early interest in music, his first outlets were singing, playing the piano and the trombone, and he studied music privately for many years. At the age of fourteen he taught himself how to play the guitar and later furthered his education on the instrument with New Jersey Jazz guitarist Paul Gravelle.
Jeff actively performs as a solo acoustic artist and as a member of The Otis Brown Band, The Jeff Brown Trio and The Cryers and owns and operates Earth Audio recording studios in NJ. Over the past few decades, Jeff has entertained audiences all over his native New Jersey and the USA, and in nine countries around the world including Canada and much of Western Europe.
Jeff has recorded in many studios in the tri-state area including Time Warner Studios, NYC and Planet Sound Studios, NYC where he worked with legendary producer Mike Theodore of the 1970’s Detroit soul and disco scene.
Some of his credits include performing as a member of the favorite NJ acoustic act America’s Choice for over ten years with nationally renown acoustic blues artist, Frank Fotusky. He also co-founded the Acoustic Musicians Guild of NJ in 1996 and served on the executive board for several years and teamed up for some writing and performing with songwriter Henry Jack Williams whose work has been recorded by Uriah Heap, Greg Allman and The Oak Ridge Boys.
Other performance credits include opening for Richie Havens, Pete Best, Connie Francis, The Platters, Bobby Lewis, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Drifters and more. More recently, he has also performed, on numerous occasions, as a guitarist and vocalist with The Bay City Rollers featuring Ian Mitchell, with original British Invader and opening act for The Beatles, Billy J. Kramer and also with Laurence Juber, former guitarist of Wings, Denny Laine, formerly of Wings and The Moody Blues and Joey Molland of Badfinger.
