THE BULLFROG SESSION started at 11:00 one dark and dreary, rainy Vancouver night within the quaint surroundings of the late Bullfrog Recording Studios at 2475 Dunbar Street. This January 26th 1994 session was recorded on a Tascam DA88 digital 8 track recorder by engineer Ian Tarasoff. After going at it all night our work was finally completed by 7:00 the following morning. THE BULLFROG SESSION is a warm, simple, bare-bones, acoustic, blues-influenced, 4 song EP project performed with nothing more than a single acoustic guitar and accompanying vocal tracks. No overdubs were used. Jeff's guitar work here makes use of alternate tunings, glass slide and some interesting finger-style technique. THIS LATEST VERSION, WAS DIGITALLY RE-MASTERED IN OCTOBER 2011.
Track 01: I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR LOVE - slide acoustic guitar blues song about a relationship on the verge of breaking down.
Track 02: THE LONELY HEARTS DANCE - finger-style acoustic guitar song about lonely people at a singles dance.
Track 03: ARIZONA WEDDING MARCH - acoustic guitar instrumental in a finger picking style somewhat similar to that of Leo Kottke.
Track 04: WEIGHT ON MY MIND - slide acoustic guitar blues song about the problems men and women have in communicating with each other.
