This recording is intended as accompaniment to a very valuable practice that not only develops the quality of the voice, but through concentration on control of the breath becomes a mind technique and ultimately, a spiritual practice that “... sets the chakras alight”. In the Chromatic Zikar practice, the melodic pattern of the Singing Zikar is sung first ascending and then descending the chromatic scale, repeating the exercise using various vowel sounds corresponding to the chakras, while mentally focusing on a colour that corresponds to one of the five elements:

1. Earth, 2. Water, 3. Fire, 4. Air, 5. Ether.

The Suras are part of the Confraternity ceremony where they are sung between prayers. Each phrase is usually repeated thirty-three times.

6. Pour Upon Us, Thy Love and Thy Light.
7. May The Message of God Reach Far and Wide.
8. Disclose To Us Thy Divine Light.
