Album Notes

"...If you want to get up and dance, drive through the night, or annoy the neighbours, please DO NOT buy this album - if you want to be taken on a varied tour of contemplative sincere emotions, through lovingly crafted songs brought to life via emotive and poignant voices, I strongly suggest you do..."

Jems come from England and comprises the collective musical talents of Sarah Goatcher, Rebecca Edwards, Maria Smith and Jeremy Ferne, who also wrote and produced the tracks. Their debut album comprises a stunning collection of 12 (predominately) love songs displaying a lyrical passion that is reflective, heartfelt and thought provoking, coupled with memorable and stirring melodies and catchy hook-lines that you'll be singing to yourself again and again "...the sort of album you'll want to sit down and listen to..." Listen now (go on, do it) to the pensive title track "Do You Surrender", the beautiful "You Make Me Laugh" and the moving 'Love What You Do" to get an indicative flavour of the variety, mood and sheer quality of the songs on this album.

With a mixture of acoustic based Pop, Folk-Pop, Pop/RnB and in places a bit of Modern Country, likenesses have been drawn to artists as diverse as The Corrs, Beth Orton, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Shawn Colvin, Faith Hill, Norah Jones, Belinda Carlisle, Sade and even Emma Bunton!. Wow, what a band that would be!

Imagine that blend in one album.....
