notes
With ethereal harmonies and a clear, strong timbre, Jen's been compared to Tori Amos, PJ Harvey and Alanis. But luckily for us, she sounds like no other female making music today.
Jen sites many eclectic artists as musical influences from Sam Phillips and PJ Harvey to Depeche Mode, Nick Cave and Aimee Mann to David Byrne. A self-described "lyric nazi," our girl has culled from her experiences and insights to create a unique and strong voice that is 100% 21st century. Although at times her voice is angelic, Jen can, and does, turn it around in an instant.
In December 2001, Jen entered producer Denny Weston, Jr.'s Mandeville Canyon studio to begin her long-awaited 6-song EP. With cohorts Michael McCarthy (guitar), Jeff Manol (bass), and Jim Loftus (drums), Jen has created a disc that is fresh and compelling, stick-in-your-head tunes that can't be ignored. And neither will she.

Publishers and Music Supervisors will want to say hello to Bye!
author: Music ConnectionA bright and lively pop-rock sound nicely laced with assorted organ textures seduces us on this demo, especially when topped off by the appealing vocals of this performer, who’s a blend of various artists, including PJ Harvey and Alanis M. (on the defiant, wordy workout, “Freckle-Faced Girl”). What’s also impressive is her lyrics’ striking imagery, especially on the tune “Bloody Fingers.” Based on the popcraft of this well-produced demo, we feel that industry, including Publishers and Music Supervisers, will want to say hello to Bye.
The CD lives in my car's player!
author: Robert McLaughlinThe music is fantastic. "Bloody Fingers" and "Freckle Face Girl" are amazing pieces of music, and I can listen to them all the way to work, an hour's drive. I am antsy about the next CD, when will it come out, it won't be too soon!
SENSUAL AND PASSIONATE
author: Zain WinterAs amazing as JenBye is on this CD, she's even more sensual and passionate in concert. The audiences at her live performances are simply spellbound. Get out the headsets and your favorite smoke for a CD with lyrics and melodies that most definetly leaves you wanting more JenBye.
