Album Notes

A singer/songwriter from a small town in Indiana, Jen Dainton has been playing her contemporary folk tunes in Chicago coffeehouses for several years now.

Her music, inspired by the likes of Lucinda Williams, Ani DiFranco, Joni Mitchell, and the Indigo Girls, has been warming the hearts of coffeehouse patrons throughout the windy city.

Now, on her debut album "Simplicity," this folk artist, with acoustic guitar in hand, takes her music to a new level mixing her folk roots with a touch of pop, rock, and blues.

From the driven pop of "I Want to Believe," to the blues inspired "Forgotten," and the subtleness of the title track "Simplicity," this album has much to give.

Jen Dainton's storytelling captures the listener as characters take shape in her writing, and by way of song, they are given a chance to live.

In the end, the listener is left with music that touches the heart and warms the soul.

Produced eloquently by multi-instrumentalist, Mel Lamagna, "Simplicity" encompasses the music that has taken these two artists on a musical journey, picking up anyone else along the way for a ride.
