Take one rockin’ country chick, ten cool songs, and some of the best country pickers on the planet and what do you get: “Jennifer Hammond”.
This may be Jennifer’s debut CD but the lady is no newcomer. She has honed her craft, learned her trade, defined herself as a performer and deserves to be taken seriously.
Jennifer counts among her professional achievements being lead singer with the Wayne Foster Orchestra, opening for such acts as Harry Connick Jr. and Andrea Bocelli at the Bellagio in Las Vegas; performing at the Flamingo Hilton, Las Vegas and at the "Toy Story II" wrap party in San Francisco.
Jennifer has expanded her experience (and her horizons) by traveling the world as lead singer for Princess Cruise Lines, performing everything from Swing to Broadway, Rock 'n' Roll to Country and Classical. Performing to audiences in excess of 1,500 per night and 240,000 per year, Ms. Hammond has certainly learned how to handle a stage, a microphone and an audience, collecting numerous fans along the way.
Her eponymous debut album makes it clear that this California girl has country music in her blood. One other thing is clear. Whether rockin’ out in “Red Lipstick” or “Nothing To be Sorry For”, or keeping it mellow in “Little Black Mustang” or “The Heart Has It’s Reasons”, the women in these songs are all smart, savvy, sexy and nobody’s fool.
And what a voice!
The playing is exquisite, the songs fun and thoughtful and Ms. Hammond commands the microphone with a confidence and authority rarely found on a debut offering.
Jennifer lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico
