Album Notes

"An uncategorizable quirky instrumental record......Jenkins constantly challenges....The adventurous listener will find pleasure discovering how Jenkins journeys from one place to the next"-----David Kleiner,Minor 7th

Yellow Folk Hillbilly is the first solo CD by Delirious Tremor guitarist and composer,Tim Jenkins.
It is quite different than DT music in that it is almost entirely acoustic and certainly a little more on the folk side.
The harmony is for the most part broader than what you are likely to hear in folk music(even folk music that is largely instrumental)and the compositions are extremely soulful, full of terrific melodies and improvisations.
Jenkins guitar is joined by banjo, mandolin and world percussionist Jon Seligman, whose textured polyrhythms add richly to this album.
You will hear very simple country-like melancholy, complex arrangement and even two pieces that are free improvisations for solo guitar. (Not to worry---they aren't that kind of "free"-think Keith jarrett,or perhaps,Ralph Towner).
This is music with many listens. It will hit you as original and accessible simultaneously. Each tune means something and is meant to reflect something beyond music.Art.
