Album Notes

No choreographed dance moves. No vocal acrobatics. No lip synching. Just good ol' rock and roll with a soulful edge. That's what Jenn Cristy brings to the stage, every performance. The Bloomington, IN rocker has entertained audiences across the Midwest - and beyond - with a sound that captures the best of old school rock and roll.
It might seem an unusual sound for a pianist to explore, but the music and lyrics Jenn creates reverberate with audiences and keep them coming back for more.
Jenn's rock and roll education began with her work with John Mellencamp in 2001-2002, when she joined his band as a backup singer and instrumentalist. Her credits include work on Mellencamp's album, Cuttin Heads -- including the Grammy-nominated song "Peaceful World" --and its associated tour, as well as the 2002 Summer Work Tour.
Throughout her life, Jenn's life has been reflected in her music. She takes inspiration from the world around her and creates meaningful lyrics wrapped up in stirring melodies. Her songs tackle drug abuse ("Better Days Sunrise"), the political landscape("American Waltz"), and loss ("Edge of the River"). It's a welcome contrast to the vapidness of contemporary popular music.
Jenn has surrounded herself with talented musicians who are willing to push the boundaries of rock music. Brian Courtney (bass), Marvin Druin (guitar), and Dave Dwinell (drums) round ou the Jenn Cristy Band, their music talents lending themselves to Jenn's deepening rock roots.
Jenn has shared a stage with artists John Eddie, Adam Kowalcyzk (LIVE), Stoll Vaughan, Jeffrey Gaines, Danielia Cotton, and Antigone Rising, among others. Although based in Indiana, she has rocked audiences in Kentukcy, Ohio, Chicago, Wisconsin, and Missouri as an independent artist, as well as performing in major venues across the United States and Canada with Mellencamp.
As Jenn releases her second, self-titled CD, she continues to explore herself musically, inviting audiences to join her on the journey. And they do so, dancing all the way.
