Album Notes

Music makes her heart sing. Like most musicians, Jennifer Gammill feels most at home expressing herself through a melody, an instrument - something more than words. As a little girl she would dream of amazing symphonies that floated around in her head. Years later she is finding a voice and lyrics for her melodies.

Jennifer's musical journey began at age five when she started piano lessons, though her mother, a frequent church soloist, would claim it began much earlier. Jennifer trained classically with piano and later flute, earning a place in the Syracuse Symphony Youth Orchestra among other honors. Inevitably, she turned toward sacred music. Her first venture was a girls singing trio, all of whom were convinced they would someday tour together. Playing in a youth band at church led her to study worship music at Elim Bible Institute under Dick Grout, who was a primary influence for her early songwriting, and later in graduate school at Regent University.

Currently, Jennifer sings in a professional vocal ensemble that performs period music in local venues near her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She has made forays into duo and solo performances, putting together programs of Gershwin and her own compositions for regional festivals as well as coffehouse crowds.

Her latest accomplishment is the release of her first full-length album Faith, a compilation of hymns on flute and piano, including one original instrumental. She desired to dedicate her first project to God, hence the more spiritual slant of the album, and plans for an original CD are slated for 2009.

She aspires to be singing in your radio someday.
