Album Notes

Jennifer Scott is considered one of the most highly respected Jazz Vocalists in Canada and the United States.
She is also an accomplished pianist and Vocal Coach.

Jennifer has worked with a great number of Jazz Greats including: Clark Terry (who is noted as calling her a "great singer.."), Don Thompson (quote: "...you could sing the phone book and it would sound incredible..."),
Tommy Banks (quote: "...i'll record with you anytime..."), to name a few.

Jennifer plays piano and sings with the San Francisco-based ensemble "Ed Johnson and Novo Tempo" and has recorded and performed to great reviews in Canada and the US.

Some quotes about Jennifer Scott:

"...i wanted to hear more of this lady, a great singer and improviser, not to mention a solid pianist..."
Pacifica Review(San Francisco)

"...throughout(Something to Live By) Scott exhibits her versatility, range, and purity of tone..."
Marke Andrews(Vancouver Sun)

REVIEWS

Scott does it again, we all win.

Scott is back in the studio, this time with a smaller ensemble. But don't let that fool you; she's every bit as engaging and warm on this CD as on her last one. Her trademark clarity and bang-on pitch carries her through this CD of mostly standards, but Murphy on piano adds a nice spice to the already established musical partnership of Scott and Worst, CF: Tennessee Waltz. What gets me most about Scott is how her singing attracts even those who aren't even jazz fans, while being every bit the consummate jazz musician herself. Her new tunes are engaging and well suited to her showing off her amazing tone and wonderful technique.
