Scott is back in the studio, this time with a smaller ensemble. But don't let that fool you; she's every bit as engaging and warm on this CD as on her last one. Her trademark clarity and bang-on pitch carries her through this CD of mostly standards, but Murphy on piano adds a nice spice to the already established musical partnership of Scott and Worst, CF: Tennessee Waltz. What gets me most about Scott is how her singing attracts even those who aren't even jazz fans, while being every bit the consummate jazz musician herself. Her new tunes are engaging and well suited to her showing off her amazing tone and wonderful technique.
