Jenny Archimede is a fiery performing artist, presenting years of fine tuned, full blooded talent on piano, guitar and voice. To be more exact, she is a first generation Italian- American, classically trained pianist, turned original songstress from NY, presenting her hard earned talents as an independent performing artist. A stellar live performer, she offers her audience an open repertoire of intensity and vulnerability that can not be denied. Recordings of her all original songs first began in Austin, TX at Mark Hallman's Congress House Studio, (Carole King, Ani Difranco, Shawn Colvin) and were completed independently by Jenny Archimede, in Seattle, WA at the infamous Robert Lang Studio and Avast Studios. Her CD release will be a feature show at The Knitting Factory, (Main Stage) Hollywood, in May 2008.
Writing, producing and performing all of her songs in a mix of solo and full band renditions, she knows her instruments intimately as a soloist, and has a proven track record of fearless artistic vision and presentation.
A skilled musician, a stellar performer, Jenny Archimede offers a compelling, subtle interplay of instrumental and lyrical artistry. She was recently named a 2008 Showcasing Artist for the EWorld/EMusic Los Angeles Launch Event, a 2007 LOS ANGELES MUSIC AWARDS NOMINEE, a Showcasing Artist for the 2007 JOHN LENNON SONGWRITING TOUR (Austin and NY Showcase Series) and a past finalist in the MUSICIANS ATLAS INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS as a 'musician who PUSHES the parameters of traditional musical boundaries.' For her earlier acoustic, solo compositions, she was named a John Lennon International Songwriting Award Winner, and a NAMT Songwriting Award Winner, performing in Washington, D.C at the inaugural International Conference, with support of The National Recording Academy.
Jenny Archimede began playing classical piano at the age of four, and through the years, crafted her on stage talents performing in theatrical productions across the country. She went on to study classical piano performance in NY at the graduate level, and theory/composition on guitar in southern Italy, with the late Gianni Centi. "There is a love of musical intensity and virtuosity in her writing that is rare among today's young songwriters. Jenny Archimede's compositions have something to say, as she weaves classically infused piano motifs and intuitive guitar riffs that embrace the intimate, vocal lines of her lyrical sentiments and translations."
