Album Notes

Jenny Dalton taught herself how to play the piano at a young age after she fell in love with the instrument at a neighbor\'s house. She began writing songs on a Casio synthesizer when she was 7 years old and continued onto the ivories when her parents bought her a parlor piano at age 9.

Always an appreciator of sub-culture pop, her influences come from the black chords and sonic layers of favorite artists like The Smiths, The Cure, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Peter Murphy, Kristen Hersh and more.

She founded independent record label, Glossy Shoebox Productions and began self-producing on her debut release, Fleur de Lily (2006). In collaboration with producers and DJs from Germany, England, Greece and the US, Carbon Lily Remixes (2007), is a collection of club remixes of songs from Fleur de Lily.

Rusalka\'s Umbrella (2008) is her second self-produced studio project accompanied by her first book entitled Daughters of the Dead Sea (2008). The CD and book are concept projects based on the element of water.

Perfection
author: Chad Tremble
Jenny created another perfect CD with Rusalka's Umbrella. This CD will have something for everyone from the upbeat tempo of The Turn and the River to the haunting tones of Better Known Vacancy. A casual listen to Alionushka will give you the sense of a Carnival but concentrate on the lyrics and feel the pain and misery found in the heart of a young woman. Jenny's voice is pure perfection riding atop and expertly weaving through the very chords of the music of each song on this CD. My one and only critique of this CD is the manner in which the pdf book was lain down on the CD, it tends to mess with CD players which encorporates "CD-TEXT" to display track info. I get blank displays on three of my four players but this is a minor annoyance. The music is simply awesome. Great job on an awesome CD!!!
