Jenny Martin is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. She spent her years there studying under legendary writers and musicians such as Pat Pattison, Jon Aldrich, and Gabrielle Goodman learning how to fine tune her skills in songwriting and performance. Accepted to Interlochen Arts Academy at the age of fourteen, her earlier years were devoted to classical flute performance. The influence of traditional music has undoubtedly shaped her sound today. Strong form and structure are always apparent in her writing, while contemporary harmony and lyric are at the forefront. She says of her training, \"I feel its important to know what the rules are before you break them. Classical music instilled the \"rules\" into me, and now I choose when and how to manipulate them into something new.\"
Since moving to New York City last September, Jenny has quickly made a place for herself within the musical community. She was hired as the vocalist for the theme to \"Love Ride\", a special airing regularly on the E! network. And recently, Jenny signed her catalog from her debut album Long To Be to Stray Dog Music Publishing. In addition, her song Lovely Lonely Girl was released on the compilation CD, Gems From The New Underground Vol. 2 that is being pitched to TV, film, and advertising.
Jenny is now focusing on promoting herself around New York City, having played venues such as Galapagos Art Space, Don Hill\'s, and Pianos.

Brilliant!
author: Scott Bartz
Jenny Martin's first album Long To Be was amazing. But the Green & Freeze blur completely blows it away.
I think all the successful musicians, the ones with staying power, are the ones that are able to grow as musicians from album and album.
Jenny is on that path. The lyrics, melodies, and vocals all show positive growth.
The only knock I can make against this album is that it only has 5 songs, but that's not really a knock.
I hope someday I can see her play live. That would rock hardcore.
In closing if you liked Long To Be, you will definetly like The Green & Freeze Blur.
Note: Long To Be is definetly worth checking out as well.
